This project involves the delivery of Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) designed to meet Robust requirements in a regional NSW context.
The design prioritises durability, safety and long-term performance, incorporating robust construction strategies including reinforced internal linings, durable substrates and high-performance floor systems. Modular construction allowed these elements to be carefully detailed, tested and consistently delivered within a controlled factory environment.
While the buildings were manufactured off site, external brickwork was completed on site to maintain a domestic scale and respond to the character of the surrounding neighbourhood. This hybrid approach balanced the precision and certainty of modular construction with a material outcome appropriate to the local context.
Factory-based construction was particularly valuable in a regional setting, allowing project stakeholders and support teams to review progress prior to installation, while significantly reducing on-site build time once delivered. The approach improved certainty, reduced site complexity and supported a smoother construction process in a rural location.
